Reiki is a Japanese technique that is used to heal physical and mental trauma as well as support mental clarity and spiritual well-being. In Japanese, the word "rei" refers to a higher intelligence that permeates all living and nonliving entities and guides the inherent functioning of the universe. The word "ki" refers to the nonphysical energy that flows through everything that is alive, including plants, animals, and human beings—because of this, ki is also often called "life force energy," and is known as qi or chi from other lineages. The combination of these two words is what defines reiki as "spiritually guided life-force energy.”

Sound Tuning is a therapeutic practice that uses specific vibrations—often from tuning forks, crystal bowls, or other resonant instruments—to bring the body and mind back into balance. These vibrations interact with the nervous system, brainwaves, and the body’s subtle electromagnetic field (often called the biofield), helping shift the system out of stress and into a calm, restorative state.
From a scientific perspective, every cell, organ, and biological system vibrates. When the body is under strain, these natural rhythms can become disorganized. Sound introduces coherent frequencies that help regulate the autonomic nervous system, support emotional stability, and enhance the body’s natural capacity to heal.
Spiritual traditions describe this process as aligning the chakras or clearing stagnant energy. Scientific language describes it as increasing coherence in the biofield and improving physiological harmony. Both point to the same outcome: reduced tension, clearer awareness, improved mood, and a deeper sense of inner alignment.
In simple terms, sound tuning helps the body remember its natural rhythm—guiding you back to balance, clarity, and ease.

Chakras are a way of understanding how your mind, body, and energy work together. In yoga and Reiki, chakras are described as “energy centers”—places along the spine where physical and emotional life tend to gather and flow. The word chakra means “wheel,” because these centers are thought to keep your energy moving smoothly.
While chakras aren’t physical organs, each one lines up with important parts of your nervous system and endocrine system. This is why changes in your stress level, emotions, or environment often show up in the same areas of the body that chakras represent.
There are seven main chakras, from the base of the spine to the top of the head. Each one relates to a different part of life—feeling safe, expressing emotions, confidence, love, communication, intuition, and a sense of connection to something greater.
When you’re overwhelmed, stressed, or carrying old emotional pain, these centers can become “blocked,” meaning the body and mind aren’t working together as smoothly as they could. This might show up as fatigue, tension, anxiety, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
Practices like yoga, breathwork, meditation, and Reiki help “balance” the chakras by calming the nervous system, relaxing the body, and restoring a sense of flow. As these centers come back into harmony, many people feel more grounded, clear, peaceful, and aligned with their true selves.
In simple terms: Chakras help us understand how our inner world works—emotionally, physically, and spiritually—and give us tools to feel balanced and whole.
